In Home Institutional Cook – FULL-TIME

Burlington, WI |Tuesday- Saturday, 10:30 AM–7:00 PM

ABOUT THE JOB

The Franciscan Province of Our Lady of Guadalupe is seeking a dependable, caring and reliable cook who will prepare nutritious meals for 25 religious men living in a fraternal home.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

A chef or cook looking to step away from the fast-paced restaurant environment and into a more calm, peaceful, and mission driven setting with no late nights and smaller dining setting. Someone motivated to join a small kitchen staff to lead the preparation of high-quality meals, oversee kitchen operations, and ensure dietary standards are consistently met. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and execute menus that cater to various dietary requirements, including special diets and preferences
• Lead food preparation and presentation for daily meals, special events, and catering functions
• Assist with managing inventory control to ensure the availability of fresh ingredients while minimizing waste
• Adhering to sanitation standards, proper handling procedures and food safety standards
• Coordinate with nursing to meet nutritional guidelines and resident needs
• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment conducive to high-quality food service

QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES

• 5-7 years full-service institutional/commercial kitchen and cooking experience - - WI food handler certificate required .

• Experience with kitchen equipment operation, cleaning, maintenance, and replacement. 
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and ability to read and follow a recipe.
• Demonstrated ability to develop relationships and collaborate. 
• Demonstrated self-directed work style with sensitivity and maturity as this is a private home to the Franciscan Friars. Ability to stand, reach, bend, stoop and frequently life up to 40 lb.
